About Us

Our Story
Hopestream Community’s genesis is found in a passion project started by Brenda Zane after her son struggled for years with a high-risk lifestyle and addiction – culminating in two fentanyl overdoses in three days.
From her intense desire to prevent other parents from experiences like hers, she began a podcast and online community for moms in early 2020. In 2021, Cathy Cioth, community member and impacted parent, joined Zane to grow the organization and serve more families
Today
Today, Hopestream Community is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization driven by a collective of experienced professionals and parents. We’re fiercely passionate about improving the lives of families impacted by substance misuse, addiction, and mental health challenges.
We host two distinct and private parent communities, a weekly podcast, educational experiences, retreats, and local meetups serving those who identify as parents or caregivers to teens and young adults who struggle with substance misuse and mental health.

our vision
Our vision is to create safer, healthier communities. We do this by supporting and empowering families to make positive changes when they’re impacted by a child’s substance misuse.

Our Mission
Our mission is to empower parents by providing them with the knowledge, support, and resources they need to create positive change when their child is struggling with substance misuse and mental health challenges.
What industry leaders say…
I’ve enjoyed listening to the Hopestream podcasts. I’ve also forwarded information about the parent support communities to a few of my families, one of which had already heard about the podcast from a friend. In my opinion, more parents need to know you are out there.

I’m so grateful for the Hopestream Community and all their work. I’m constantly connecting parents to the unique platform and communities as it is an amazing resource and support tool unlike anything that has ever existed before.
Dr. Weston RobinsPresident & Founder, Eternal Strength Center for Radical Youth Work

There’s nothing more isolating for a parent than navigating finding help for your child. These communities, and all the resources they include, are truly a beacon of light during some dark days. I refer families often because having that community will often help them, help themselves.

Hopestream Community is a supplemental resource for many parents we coach at Solutions Parenting Support. They create a safe space for parents to find a tribe with whom they can explore their successes and failures. The skills they offer parents provide an alternative to the “just kick them out” approach that can be depended on too quickly when you have a family member misusing substances. If you are looking for hope, community, and alternative and creative solutions to the hard moments with your family, join The Stream or The Woods Communites.
